The History Of Azazeal and the Nephelim

This is for all you  big Azazeal followers (you know who you are!)

Having eyes full of adultery, and that cannot cease from sin; beguiling, unstable souls: a heart they have exercised with covetous practices.---(2 Peter, 2.14)

So the Bible describes the Nephelim – Hebrew for ‘the fallen ones’. Once God’s angels, they were captivated by the beauty of mortal women, descended to earth, and took them as lovers –

“And there arose much godlessness, and they committed fornication, and they were led astray, and became corrupt in all their ways.” ---(Enoch, 8, 2).

Although they strayed, the Nephelim were still Angels – they had the power of Angels, and, more importantly, the knowledge of Angels. Through them, the mortal women learned the secrets and mysteries of the universe; mysteries that God had seen fit to hide from his newly created children, mankind.

Though they numbered two hundred in all, one of them was singled out for special condemnation. His name was Azazeal.

“The Lord knew that he was the chief trouble maker, that the whole earth has been corrupted through the works that were taught by Azazeal: to him ascribe all sin.” ---(Enoch,10,8-9).

The History Of Azazeal and the NephelimGod punished the Nephelim from Heaven. The fallen angels were horrified - The pleasure they gained from women was nothing compared to the fruits of eternal life.

“Again the Lord said to Uriel: 'Bind Azazeal hand and foot, and cast him into the darkness… let him abide there for ever, and cover his face that he may not see light. And on the day of the great judgement he shall be cast into the fire.” ---(Enoch, 10, 4-7)

Azazeal, and his companions, were thrown into an horrific place.

“Neither a heaven above nor a firmly founded earth, but a place chaotic and horrible” ---(Enoch, 21, 3).

They were soon forgotten by humanity, shunned by the heavens. Trapped in another dimension they were consumed with longing and desire. But they remained determined to seek their revenge on God and his special creation, mankind.

It looked like this day would never come. Until Rachel McBain summoned Azazeal from his prison in a Voodoo ceremony and gave him the chance to walk on earth once more ... and in Cassie, Azazeal may have found his chance.
